Prayer following Mission Week

Mar
30

Give thanks…

Thank God for everything he has done during the preparation months and during Mission Week. We have seen Him at work in many ways throughout the week and in many peoples lives.

Thank God that at least 300 guests heard the gospel clearly last week possibly for the first time ever.

Thank God for Paul Hinton who was a great blessing to us. Pray for the church he pastors and his family who have made sacrifices for him to be with us last week. Pray for Paul as he resumes his pastoral ministry, that he was blessed and encouraged during his time with us.

Please pray…..

For those who have heard the gospel, that they would think seriously about what they have heard and take steps to find out more.

Pray that the Holy Spirit would convict people of their sin and their need for Jesus, and that they would repent and be saved.

Pray that there would be many interested in doing the Christianity Explored course, starting Monday 19th April, 7:30pm at Woodgreen.

Continue to pray for your friends and your guests who came to Mission Week events. Think about how you might follow up with them in conversation or giving them a book or DVD, inviting them to a Christinity Explored course, Church service or another event.

Pray that we would have a continuing and growing desire to see lost people saved and reach out with the gospel to those around us.

Please pray…

- For nearly 40 guys meeting on Friday evening (5th March) for curry at the Rajkot. Pray for great fellowship and friendship and particularly for a good number of non-Christian guys who are coming as guests. For good, meaningful conversation, opportunities and boldness to invite to Mission Week events.

- For the Dads and Toddlers event next Saturday morning. There are good relationships here so please pray that they would be strengthened and for opportunities to invite to Mission Week events. All the Dad’s received a Luke’s gospel on the last event – pray that these would be read and God would use them.

- For the continuing Christianity Explored course.

- For Shona and her team planning and praying over how we follow-up those who come to Mission Week events.

- For a sense of excitement, anticipation and preparation as we get nearer to Passion for Life Mission week.

- For Paul Hinton and the other speakers as they prepare their hearts and minds as well as their contributions.

- Have you invited anyone to an event yet? If not, pray and then invite – it’s 3 weeks to Mission Week so a good time to get people to commit events to their diaries.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?….

Give thanks to God…

- That the “Buckets of Love” Guest Charity Barn Dance last Friday was a great event. Many people invited guests. Some were not able to come but many did. There was a real buzz around the venue and we’ve heard many positive and encouraging stories about people’s experience of bringing guests.

- That venues and key arrangements have been finalised for Mission Week and we have some great events lined up.

Please continue to pray…

- That those who had invites to the Barn Dance turned down will be bold in inviting guests to further events. That those guests who couldn’t come to the Barn Dance for various reasons will be able to come next time they are invited.

- For the women@woodgreen event on Friday, that it would be well attended and a great encouragement.

- For the continuing Christianity Explored course and especially that everyone would be there next week after one week’s half term break.

- For a sense of excitement, anticipation and preparation as we get nearer to Passion for Life Mission week. That we would clear our diaries and prepare ourselves for a week focused on bringing those who are not yet saved to events where they will hear about Jesus.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?….

WELCOME new subscribers. Here’s this week’s prayer points:

Please Pray…

- For the “Buckets of Love” Guest Charity Barn Dance – tickets are selling well but it’s the more the merrier. Have you got your tickets yet? Have you invited anyone yet? Even if your invites have been turned down or you can’t think of anyone to invite to this, we need you there.

Keep praying that this would be a fun-filled and very successful evening introducing friends to other Christians from Woodgreen with a view to inviting them to a gospel event in Mission Week.

- For the Christianity Explored course. Session three is next Wednesday, 10th February and is challenging. Pray for great wisdom for the leaders and that God would open hearts and minds to hear and respond to his Word.

- Over your involvement with Passion for Life, not just who you could invite but how you can help with organising or preparing for events. Talk to or email Alison, Nathan or Anthony if you’d like to offer your services and want some ideas.

- For a sense of excitement, anticipation and preparation as we get nearer to Passion for Life Mission week. That we would clear our diaries and prepare ourselves for a week focused on bringing those who are not yet saved to events where they will hear about Jesus.

Jesus answered, ” I am the way and the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Here’s this week’s prayer points….

Give thanks !

-We’ve secured some great personalities to work with Paul Hinton at the main gospel events during mission week: Garin Jenkins, Henry Olonga and John Mosey – profiles will be online soon.

- For Paul Hinton’s visit last Sunday. Many people were inspired by his preaching, approach and clear gift for communicating the gospel. Pray for Paul in his busy role as Pastor of Moorside Church in Leeds and his itinerant work with Missions and Evengelism as he prepares for Passion for Life Mission Week.

Please Pray…

- For the Christianity Explored course, due to start 27th January 2010, postponed for two weeks due to the snow. Pray that those signed up will start and continue with the course – is there someone you are talking to who you could bring? Contact James and Anthony for details.

-For the Passion for Life Support Team as this is a really busy time finalising key arrangements for Mission Week and on the run up to invite events. Pray that God would go before us and prepare the way in terms of practical details as well as spiritual ground.

- Over your involvement with Passion for Life, not just who you could invite but how you can help with organising or preparing for events. Talk to or email Alison, Nathan or Anthony if you’d like to offer your services and want some ideas.

- For the “Buckets of Love” Guest Charity Barn Dance – Have you invited anyone yet? Have you got your tickets yet? the first major Passion for Life invite event of 2010. Keep praying that this would be a fun-filled and very successful evening introducing friends to others from Woodgreen with a view to inviting them to a gospel event in Mission Week.

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 4 v 13-14

Thanks for your continued prayers !
